New Lottery funding start up for West Euston Healthy Community project

Tuesday Jul 28, 2009

Reaching communities
award to WEP

This bid to the Big Lottery Reaching Communities fund was made in 2008 and, after going to second stage, an award of £499,197 was made to the WEP, on the basis of it being a registered charity. All requirements for start up have been completed and the work went ‘live’ on 4 May 2009.

The grant will help the West Euston Healthy Community project partners (WEP, Bengali Workers Association, Green Light Pharmacy, Samuel Lithgow Youth Centre, Third Age Project and West Euston Timebank) deliver community based opportunities for local people to improve their health and well-being.

This builds on the work carried out with a Big Lottery grant that ended in September 2008, which was managed through Camden council. With the new funds, the financial management and monitoring will be carried out by staff directly employed by WEP and the funds will go into the WEP bank account.
