About
What is West Euston Partnership?
The WEP was set up in 1992, by local people, to help make their area a better place to live and work. It included community, voluntary, private and public sector partners from the earliest stage and, working with few resources, started to improve services in the area.
Local people were concerned about young people, including street fighting, racial tension and the lack of facilities and opportunities. Issues like community safety and facilities for young people, which are central to the welfare of all local people, originally brought local stakeholders together, as well as a strong commitment to make things better.
This energy to make change happen by listening to local communities still remains key more than 15 years later.
As a neighbourhood organisation, WEP listens to local people and works with them to influence service providers, like the council, the police and health services. WEP does this with community groups and resident association representatives on the Partnership Board, by running working groups and community events and through a wide range of community consultations.
